Developer Relations Engineer job description

About the Role

We're hiring a Developer Relations Engineer to join a small, engineering-heavy team building one of the most widely adopted open-source platforms in the LLM engineering space. This is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of engineering, content creation, and community — helping developers worldwide build better AI applications through tracing, evaluation, and prompt management.

This role is based in Berlin, Germany (hybrid), with one week per month expected in the Berlin office, plus occasional travel to conferences and events.

What You'll Do

  • Own and continuously improve the developer documentation — make it the best in the category

  • Write blog posts, social content, and thought leadership pieces that define how engineers should think about LLM observability and AI application development

  • Create cookbooks, tutorials, and code examples that deliver real, practical value to users

  • Produce videos, demos, and engaging technical content (yes, memes welcome)

  • Build small applications and tools that support community growth in creative, unconventional ways

  • Engage deeply with the open-source community — onboard new users, gather product feedback, and be a trusted voice in the ecosystem

  • Represent the platform at developer-focused events, webinars, and user cohorts through public speaking and live demonstrations

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Engineering or Data Science background — you can read, write, and reason about code

  • Proficiency in Python; comfortable becoming a deep expert user of the platform

  • Proven experience creating developer-facing content: blog posts, tutorials, cookbooks, or videos

  • Experience in developer relations, community building, or a closely related function (user onboarding, support, feedback collection)

  • Active involvement or contributions in open-source communities; genuine OSS mindset

  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills — comfortable with both in-person and virtual developer audiences

  • Willingness to be on-site in Berlin on a regular basis with occasional conference travel

Nice to Have:

  • Impressive side projects or standout achievements from previous roles — we love hearing about these

  • Enthusiasm for talking directly to users to understand their needs and pain points

  • Experience working in small, high-accountability teams where ownership is the norm

  • Familiarity with LLM application development, AI agents, or related ML engineering workflows

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: €90,000 – €160,000 per year, depending on experience

  • Equity participation

  • Hybrid work arrangement with a collaborative Berlin office presence

Please note: visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Location

This role is based in Berlin, Germany. The team operates on a hybrid model with an expectation of roughly one week per month in the Berlin office. Candidates based elsewhere in Europe may be considered if they can commit to regular Berlin presence.
