UGC Analysis Checklist
Complete this checklist before you write a single word of your pitch.
Brand Research
Spend at least 30 minutes studying the brand's social presence.
- Follow the brand on Instagram and turn on post notifications for at least 1 week
- Scroll through their last 50-100 posts and note which ones are user-generated content (not professional shoots)
- Save 5-10 UGC posts the brand has reposted or featured in stories
- Read the brand's bio and highlights for any mention of a creator program, ambassador program, or hashtag
- Check if they have a branded hashtag and browse the top posts under it
Content Pattern Analysis
Identify what style of creator content the brand gravitates toward.
- Lighting: Natural / studio / moody & dramatic / bright & airy?
- Setting: At home / outdoors / gym / bathroom mirror / lifestyle locations?
- Format: Talking-head video / silent demo / get-ready-with-me / before & after / tutorial?
- Tone: Casual & funny / educational / aspirational / raw & relatable?
- Creator size: Are they reposting nano, micro, or large creators?
- Captions: Long storytelling / short & punchy / emoji-heavy / educational?
Pre-Pitch Proof
Create organic content that matches their style before you reach out.
- Create 2-3 organic posts that match the brand's UGC style you identified
- Use the brand's product (if you already own it) in your content naturally
- Tag the brand organically and use their branded hashtag
- Screenshot engagement metrics from your matching posts (likes, saves, shares)
- Engage with the brand's posts (thoughtful comments, story replies) for 1-2 weeks
Pro Tip
Don't skip the pre-pitch content step. Creators who show proof of aligned content in their pitch see significantly higher response rates than those using generic portfolios. Brands want to see that you already speak their visual language.

Pitch Email Template
Fill in the fields below and see your personalized pitch email update in real time.
Why This Template Works
This pitch leads with the brand's content preferences, not your follower count. You're showing you've done your homework and that your content already aligns with what they share. Include real engagement data - saves and shares matter more than likes.
Before You Hit Send
Quick final checks to maximize your response rate.
- Personalized - Does the email mention specific UGC examples the brand has reposted?
- Proof attached - Did you include links to 2-3 posts that match their style?
- Engagement data - Did you include saves, shares, and engagement rate (not just follower count)?
- Right contact - Are you emailing creator partnerships, not a generic info@ address?
- Clear CTA - Did you end with a specific ask (a short call, next steps)?
- Subject line - Is it specific and benefit-driven (not "Collaboration Inquiry")?
Pitch Tracker
Track every pitch you send. Follow up after 5-7 business days if you haven't heard back.
| Brand | Date Sent | Contact | Status | Follow-Up Date | Notes | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Follow-Up Strategy
If you haven't heard back in 5-7 business days, send a short follow-up referencing your original email. Keep it to 2-3 sentences. After a second follow-up with no response, move on - there are plenty of brands who will value your work.
