Associate Medical Editor - Portuguese (Brazil) (MD/DO) job description

Hello there, we are AMBOSS, and we are looking for a committed physician to support our medical editorial team. You’ll apply your medical knowledge and experience to help produce the reliable resource you wish you’d had as a medical student. Join our team of ambitious and talented physicians and help improve medical education for millions of students worldwide.

You will:

  • Work closely with other motivated physicians to help plan, develop, write, and review new medical content for medical students, with a focus on international markets (e.g., Brazil).

  • Review and optimize existing content on our platform.

  • Collaborate with our illustrators to create new flowcharts and illustrations.

  • Integrate user feedback and incorporate new evidence-based guidelines to keep our content current and relevant to the target users.

  • Communicate with our marketing and product teams to optimize our platform and interface for medical students in Brazil.

  • Become an expert in using our content management system, which seamlessly integrates text, images, and videos to create our AMBOSS articles and questions (no tech background required).

You bring:

  • Recognized medical degree (preferred graduation < 3 years prior).

  • Brazilian Portuguese native speaker.

  • Deep understanding of the medical education space in Brazil, including exam formats and learning challenges.

  • Experience taking a centralized medical exam, either in Brazil (e.g., ENAMED) or an equivalent international exam (e.g., USMLE, IFOM, PLAB/UKMLA, AMC exam).

  • Fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-driven curiosity and a continuous learning mindset.

  • Entrepreneurial and adaptive mindset: able to navigate ambiguity and solve new problems pragmatically.

  • Full-time or near-full-time availability.

  • Located in Brazil, or Germany

  • Technical literacy (e.g., experience with AI tools, data-driven decision-making, or programming basics) is a strong plus.

  • Current or previous AMBOSS user (a plus).

  • Experience creating educational content (a plus).
