About role:

We are seeking a highly driven Breaking News Writer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for filing real-time financial news and announcements across ION Analytics. This Mumbai-based role is key to ensuring our global editorial operation delivers timely, accurate, and impactful updates to subscribers 24 hours a day.

Key Responsibilites

  • File time-sensitive market intelligence on topics including M&A, anti-trust, equity capital markets and debt transactions, infrastructure, shareholder activism and private equity funding.
  • Monitor stock exchanges, company press releases and news outlets globally to ensure we deliver relevant breaking news to ION Analytics platforms.

  • Have a solid understanding of financial markets.
  • Produce clear and concise reports, ensuring information is relevant, accurate, and aligned with our editorial standards.
  • Work closely with internal teams to enhance our aggregation efforts and foster knowledge-sharing across departments.
  • Be highly driven and self-motivated, as the role involves extensive on-the-job learning.
  • Be open to working flexible shifts.
  • Work independently and in collaboration with editorial colleagues across regions to ensure a constant flow of news across ION Analytics platforms.

    • Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Previous experience in journalism or a related role, particularly in financial reporting, is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • An ability to analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources quickly and accurately.
  • Proficiency in working with digital tools and platforms for news monitoring and aggregation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
