A day in the life:
As an Associate Art Director, you’ll serve as an executional leader embedded directly within a Division, driving the quality, velocity, and cohesion of all design and motion output as Power Digital scales. This role centers on managing Design and Edit Leads, coaching tactical excellence, and building scalable creative systems that ensure work is consistently delivered on-time, on-brand, and performance-aligned. Balancing strategic oversight with hands-on craft, you will set the benchmark for creative execution and establish the operational backbone required to maintain it.
Scaling creative teams often means balancing speed with brand integrity. Part of this job is having the design mastery, motion fluency, and operational leadership to enforce high execution standards while building the systems that allow your team to scale seamlessly without compromising quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Creative Output
- Own the executional bar for design and motion across assigned division
- QA and direct high-priority assets with performance, polish, and platform alignment
- Partner with Creative Team Lead to ensure visual direction aligns with strategy and business goals
- Lead internal reviews, give actionable feedback, and champion brand consistency
- Maintain fluency in platform-specific creative standards across Meta, Email/SMS, Organic Social, Amazon, and Content — ensuring execution aligns to best practices and funnel stage.
Team Management & Development
- Manage Design and Edit Leads across accounts within division
- Coach Leads in creative QA, technical execution, and project pacing
- Upskill team on evolving best practices for design, motion, and tooling
- Help identify and grow next-gen AAD talent
- Coach Leads on escalation protocols and bandwidth planning — ensuring they can triage and resolve issues independently.
- Mentor high-performing Leads toward AAD readiness, expanding their platform fluency, creative leadership, and QA acumen.
Systems & Efficiency
- Partner closely with the Art Director to co-develop and implement systems, tooling, and operational rollouts that improve quality, efficiency, and scale across the division.
- Evaluate production bottlenecks and implement creative process enhancements
- Integrate AI and scalable systems where applicable
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Power Circuit, executing on assigned recommendations from the solutions roadmap.
Client & Cross-Functional Support
- Direct production for top-tier accounts where creative stakes are high
- Collaborate with Strategy, Content, and Project Management to problem-solve blockers
- Help translate messaging frameworks into creative systems across channels
- Attend concepting sessions to provide feasibility and asset planning input
- Act as escalation point for cross-functional blockers, helping resolve creative issues across design and edit.
- Contribute to strategic concepting sessions early, advising on feasibility, executional planning, and modular asset development.
- Partner with Creative Team Lead on divisional creative planning, account team alignment, and upcoming strategic priorities.
- Employ AI technologies to enhance and optimize business processes
- Utilize and leverage Power Digital's Nova ecosystem as it relates to your department
Role Requirements:
- 8+ years in visual design and/or video editing (agency experience preferred)
- Strong fluency in Adobe CC, Figma, and platform-specific formats (Meta, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
- Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring creatives
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, content strategy, and performance creative
- Comfortable giving, receiving, and actioning feedback quickly and clearly
- Passion for scalable design systems and operational creativity
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Personally carry 5–8 accounts and maintain a $22K+ RPE.
- Maintain $20K+ RPE per direct report and ensure capacity benchmarks are met.
- Keep client churn below 10% across accounts owned directly or by your DRs.
- Deliver scoped assets within a 5-business-day average turnaround.
- Achieve 90%+ approval rate on first review with minimal rework.
- Sustain 90%+ annual retention across direct reports.
- Launch at least one tool, template, or workflow improvement per quarter.

- Creative Quality: Maintains a high bar for design and motion — polish, platform fit, and brand alignment across deliverables.
- Lead Development: Coaches Design and Edit Leads to improve craft, speed, and creative decision-making.
- Executional Efficiency: Builds and improves systems that drive faster, cleaner, and more consistent output.
- Production Accountability: Owns delivery on top accounts — ensuring assets are on-time, QA-ready, and performance-aligned.
