About the Role

We are looking for a B2B Community Manager to lead the day-to-day management and development of our client's social communities across LinkedIn, Meta, YouTube and X, with Instagram also forming part of the wider social ecosystem.

This is a strategic and operational role, responsible for ensuring consistent, high-quality community engagement while helping shape how the brand participates in conversations across social channels. You will establish governance frameworks, manage content planning and publishing, develop social copy, monitor and respond to community interactions, and work closely with internal teams and external production partners to ensure social activity aligns with the brand's strategic direction.

The role requires someone who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery and who understands how to engage B2B audiences across different platforms.

Responsibilities:

Community & Social Governance

  • Develop and maintain a clear governance strategy for content management and community engagement across social channels.
  • Establish best practices, processes and guidelines for publishing, engagement, escalation and response management.
  • Ensure social activity consistently aligns with the client's North Star, brand strategy and Social Playbook.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness, consistency and quality of community engagement.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on B2B community management, bringing platform and audience expertise to wider social strategy.

Content Planning & Publishing

  • Create and manage a monthly social content calendar, where influence and oversight of the client's wider content planning allows.
  • Recommend appropriate frequency, timing and channel distribution for social content based on audience behaviour and platform best practice.
  • Manage daily channel activity, including scheduling and publishing content across LinkedIn, Meta, YouTube and X, with Instagram incorporated where required.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure content is approved, accurately scheduled and published on time.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise content for individual platforms and audience behaviours.

Copy & Content Optimisation

  • Create and optimise master asset copy for campaigns and ongoing community interaction.
  • Adapt messaging and copy for different social channels while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
  • Develop engaging responses to community interactions, ensuring communications are relevant, authentic and appropriate for a B2B audience.
  • Identify opportunities to repurpose and extend existing content through social-first engagement and conversation.

Community Management

  • Monitor social channels and actively manage community interactions across the client's social ecosystem.
  • Manage up to 800 community engagements per month, including comments, questions, mentions and other audience interactions.
  • Respond to audiences in line with established governance, tone of voice and escalation processes.
  • Identify emerging topics, recurring questions, audience sentiment and opportunities for proactive engagement.
  • Escalate sensitive, complex or potentially reputational issues to the appropriate stakeholders. This can include detrimental statements from current or former employees, as well as brand-damaging posts, pages, or entities.
  • Build meaningful relationships with relevant audiences, industry voices and communities.

Creative & Production Oversight

  • Direct the assessment and enhancement of existing creative assets with the incumbent production agency.
  • Provide clear briefs and strategic guidance to ensure creative assets align with the client's North Star and Social Playbook objectives.
  • Collaborate with creative and production partners to identify opportunities to improve the relevance, effectiveness and social performance of existing assets.
  • Challenge and refine creative where required, ensuring assets are appropriate for the intended audience, platform and objective.
  • Connect creative execution with broader content, community and social strategy.

Insights, Reporting & Optimisation

  • Monitor community and content performance to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Use social and audience data to inform content planning, publishing cadence and engagement strategy.
  • Provide regular community insights and recommendations to improve social performance.
  • Feed audience and community learnings back into wider content and social strategy.
  • Autonomously monitor social media platforms via enterprise management tools to identify and escalate significant brand mentions across non-client owned forums (e.g., Reddit), articles, blogs, and press releases.
  • Track and flag sensitive mentions from high-impact sources, including government officials, major technology companies, and influential public figures.
  • Monitor for and escalate content involving geopolitical issues or sensitivities.

Client & Agency Collaboration

  • Work closely with account, strategy, creative and social teams to deliver integrated social activity.
  • Collaborate with the client's internal teams and incumbent agency partners to ensure effective content planning and execution.
  • Confidently communicate recommendations, insights and community trends to senior stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple workflows and stakeholders while maintaining a high standard of delivery.

About You

The essentials:

  • Proven experience in B2B community management and social media, ideally within an agency environment.
  • Strong understanding of LinkedIn, Meta, YouTube, X and Instagram and the different roles they play within a B2B social ecosystem.
  • Experience managing high volumes of community interactions while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills, with a strong instinct for tone of voice.
  • Experience developing social content calendars and managing publishing schedules.
  • Strong understanding of social governance, moderation and escalation processes.
  • Ability to turn strategic frameworks and brand guidelines into practical social activity.
  • Experience briefing, reviewing or directing creative work with internal or external production partners.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Highly organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • A genuine interest in social culture, platform developments and evolving audience behaviours.

Not a must, but a plus:

  • Experience working with large, global or technology-focused B2B brands.
  • Experience managing social communities at scale.
  • Experience working with established social playbooks, governance frameworks or brand systems.
  • Experience with social listening, publishing and analytics platforms.
  • Experience supporting social crisis and reputation management.
  • Understanding of paid social and how organic community activity can complement broader campaigns.
  • Experience working with external creative, production or media agencies.
